how honest can we be publicly about a programme that did not work

More honest than you think, with one condition: pair it with what you changed. ‘This did not work, here is what we learned, here is what we do now’ reads as competence. ‘This did not work’ on its own reads as instability, and funders will quietly move on.

The orgs I have seen damaged by honesty were not damaged by honesty. They were damaged by having no answer to ‘so what do you do about it’.
